World’s Best Islands: or what do Bali, the Galapagos and Cape Breton have in common?

July 14, 2009 · 4 Comments

As a proud Cape Bretoner, I am delighted to see that Cape Breton has come in third  on this list: 2009 World’s Best Islands | Travel + Leisure beating out such great spots as Kauai, Maui, and Vancouver Island (up from 10th). All these islands are great, of course. For me, what I love about this is the recognition of how great Cape Breton is.

Wow, we have never been to Cape Breton, but just came back from Bali – I guess a visit is (over)due when we return to Canada.

Of course, I haven’t been to Hawaii either (both my wife and son have been there but not me – something is wrong with this!).

Was to Bali probably 20 years ago and to Cape Breton–for the umpteenth time–fishing in June. Here’s to not having to choose!

Indeed: the more of these islands one can see, the luckier and the happier they will be.
